We only collect information required for Focus to function properly and improve your experience.
1.1 Account Information
When you sign up or log in:
Name – to personalize greetings and reports.
Phone number – for OTP-based verification and secure login.
Email (optional) – if you choose to receive updates or recovery links.
1.2 Focus Activity Data
While using Focus:
Session data: start/end times, total duration, category (Work, Study, Deep Focus).
Streak history: completed sessions and breaks.
App-block events: which apps were blocked and for how long.
Completion statistics: progress, success rates, and focus score.
This helps us calculate insights, streaks, and performance analytics visible only to you.
1.3 Device and Technical Data
Device model, operating system, and app version.
Crash logs, performance metrics, and diagnostics.
Used strictly to fix bugs, ensure compatibility, and optimize app speed.
1.4 Camera Verification Data (Optional)
If you enable photo verification:
Photos are stored locally on your device.
Upload to cloud backup occurs only if you opt in.
Never used for face recognition, ads, or shared externally.
Disable anytime in Settings → Camera Verification.
1.5 Payment and Subscription Data
Handled by trusted gateways:
Apple In-App Purchase, Google Play Billing, or Razorpay.
We receive only transaction IDs and payment tokens — never card numbers or CVV.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your data is used solely to make Focus work better for you:
Account management – creating, authenticating, and maintaining your account.
Session tracking – recording focus activity, streaks, and performance.
Personalization – showing recommendations, habits, and motivational messages.
Notifications – optional reminders about sessions or streak milestones.
Billing and support – handling subscriptions, receipts, and refund requests.
Research & improvement – anonymized analysis to enhance app features.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or resale.
3. Legal Basis for Processing (EU Users)
Under GDPR, we process data based on:
Consent – when you enable analytics, camera, or notifications.
Contract – to deliver Focus services you request.
Legitimate interest – to maintain security and prevent abuse.
You may withdraw consent anytime in Settings → Privacy.
4. Data Storage and Retention
Hosted on Supabase secure cloud infrastructure (ISO 27001 & GDPR compliant).
Encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256).
Active user data retained while the account exists.
Inactive data anonymized after 12 months of inactivity.
Deleted accounts permanently erased within 30 days.
You can delete your data anytime from Settings → Delete Account or by emailing privacy@focusapp.com.
5. Data Security
We use multiple layers of protection:
End-to-end encryption for all communications.
OTP-only login (no reusable passwords).
Regular internal security audits.
Limited employee access under strict confidentiality.
While no system can guarantee absolute safety, Focus continually improves its defenses and follows modern security standards.
6. Third-Party Services and Disclosurs
We never sell your data.
However, some trusted partners help us operate Focus safely:
Supabase – backend database and authentication.
Apple / Google / Phonepe / Razorpay – payment processing.
Crashlytics / Analytics SDKs – anonymous crash reports and app metrics.
Lottie Files – local animations, no data transfer.
Each partner processes limited data under confidentiality agreements and privacy-law compliance.
We may share information only if required by law or to prevent fraud.
7. Your Rights and Choices
You have full control over your personal information.
Access Your Data – request a copy in JSON or CSV format.
Correct Your Data – edit name or phone number anytime.
Delete Your Data – permanently remove your account.
Withdraw Consent – turn off camera, analytics, or notifications.
Portability & Erasure (GDPR) – request transfer or deletion of all stored data.

8. Children’s Privacy
Focus is intended for users aged 13 and above.
We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
If such data is discovered, we’ll delete it immediately.
Minors (under 18) should use Focus only with parental consent.
We never engage in behavioral advertising toward minors.
9. International Transfers of Data
Depending on your region, Focus may store or process data in servers located in:
India
European Union
United States
All transfers follow GDPR Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent safeguards.
Indian user data is localized wherever feasible under the DPDP Act 2023.
10. Cookies and Tracking
Focus is a native mobile application — it does not use browser cookies.
We may employ lightweight, anonymized analytics to measure app usage.
No advertising identifiers, fingerprinting, or cross-app tracking are used.
You may opt out of analytics anytime via Settings → Privacy → Analytics → Off.
11. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when we release new features or to comply with evolving laws. When changes occur:
You’ll see an in-app notification or receive an email alert.
The “Last Updated” date will change.
Continued use of Focus after updates means you accept the revised Policy.
If you disagree, you may delete your account.
